Phil encouraged me a bunch and helped me record six songs at his parents' house, in his bedroom/recording studio. the six songs we recorded was only the beginning of what we wanted to record, but we called it quits due to time constraints. i wound up cutting one of the songs because i thought i sounded a bit off key in some parts. i was very impressed with how Phil made the album sound. just one guitar, one voice, nothing else. two tracks, nothing fancy, but i think the songs called for that at the time. the sound, the look and the way i press the cds (burn them just before shows and apply the face) is d.i.y. all the way. Phil recorded all the songs for free, and i was so thankful that i named the album after him, "the phil ep" (ep stands for "extended play"). even though i don't get to see Phil very often because he lives in kentucky and i in pennsylvania, he is a lifelong friend.
