<itunes:summary>The road to Pasolivo is called simply Vineyard Drive. It curves and rolls along rhythmic patterns of vineyards, punctuated by ancient oak trees whose branches arch generously overhead. We loved the name, and it inspired a beautiful tune that sounds like a wedding dance. Tommy wrote it right after our first trip to Paso Robles, although we had a lot to learn about Pasolivo.Actually, it is a very special ranch that produces, not wine, but the some of best olive oil in the world. We were really happy with this little tune and thought that it was just right, until Dan Bradley, Tommy’s songwriting partner, emailed us these lyrics:Rendezvous with me in CaliforniaWhere the vines run free to chase the sunAnd love and summer wine become a slow danceLost in the romance embracing everyone.Meet me on the road where I first saw you Dance with me across the fields again And there beneath the sun near Pasolivo We will feel the things thatLovers have always dreamed of… Waltzing forever in love. Now, tell me you didn’t get a tear in your eye.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>OK. It is true that we’ve been working on this album for 4 years. It seemed like it would be born rather quickly, because half of the music arrived all at once. But some of the other tunes were not quite ready. Tommy insists that time is non-linear, and that these later songs are hooking up with a different place in the Cosmos. He was calm about it. I have been the impatient one. But Tommy was right. A year ago, Tommy was reunited with an old friend, Dan Bradley. Dan managed many of Lee Greenwood’s enterprises for years, but the best thing about Dan is that he is an amazing lyricist. As a team, Tommy and Dan are downright magical. The title song from the album was written on the drive home from our first trip to Paso Robles. It was a little getaway for Tommy’s birthday. We drove to California with no exact destination in mind and found ourselves in Paso Robles. We didn’t want to leave. In truth, we never have.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Tommy and I were talking about Paso Robles one winter Sunday. I had recently been rooting around in the past, looking for interesting historical information related to the people and places we’d seen on our recent visit. I found an entry about Sylvester and Catarina Dusi, one of the pioneer families of Paso Robles, who planted their Zinfandel vines in the 1920’s. Today, these vineyards contribute to some of the greatest wines you can taste from this region.I had just finished reading a little story about how Catarina chose a specific hill to start the first planting. I was tending to some loaves of bread just out of the oven, when Tommy began to play. When he finished, I asked, “Was that Greig?” But as I looked up, I saw he was crying. This perfect piece was Catarina speaking to him.We had long since turned our family room into a studio, with every keyboard midi’d to Pro Tools. Often, I just kept it running while I got up to cook. So we captured this beautiful moment. Here it is:</itunes:summary>
